amazing chili.
our weekend was spent watching a whole lot of football
and enjoying our favorite tailgate chili.
Thought i would share this recipe so you can do the same some weekend...
ingredients (many, but well worth it):
1/2 lb spicy Italian sausage
1 lb ground beef chuck
1 lg can chili beans
3 cans diced tomatoes
1 (6oz) can tomato paste
1 yellow onion
1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
1 red bell pepper, seeded and chopped
1 small can chile peppers
6 strips of bacon (cooked) cut into pieces
4 cubes beef bouillon
12oz beer
3T chili powder
1T Worcestershire sauce
1T minced garlic
1T dried oregano
2t ground cumin
1t dried basil
1t salt
1t ground black pepper
1t cayenne pepper
1t paprika
1T sugar
1 bag of Fritos
Shredded cheddar cheese
sour cream
Cook ground beef and Italian sausage until brown. Drain off excess grease. Pour into crock pot. Saute onion, green and red peppers, and garlic until caramelized. Add this with all other ingredients in to crock pot. Let simmer on low for most of day. The longer the chili simmers the better it will taste! Serve with shredded cheese, sour cream and Fritos.
Enjoy!
